Unite the Union Band saw out the end of 2019 by adding to  our playing ranks, and the new signings continued into the start of 2020 as well.

The end of the year saw the band welcome Kate Salter on baritone from Foresters Band in Leicester, and Arthur Cutts on Bb Bass from Emley Band in Huddersfield.  Kate helped the band out at the Spring Festival in May, but over the autumn relocated to Yorkshire for work, and we are delighted that she has joined us as an official member of the band. Arthur has re-joined the band after a few years away with first Stannington and then Emley bands, and we are very happy to have him back in our bass section.

New Year brought another new signing for the band, and we would like to welcome Daniel Blackwell to our back row cornet team. Daniel joins us from Loxley Silver Band where he previously played principal cornet.

The band has a couple of vacancies to fill going into the new contest season for 2020. If you are a Soprano Cornet player or a Percussionist looking for a new challenge, please get in touch with us either through our Facebook Page, or by email: brassband@unitetheunion.org
